Movie Review: The Boss Baby

It’s better than Moana, but not as good as Storks – starring Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Kimmel, Tobey Macguire

The Boss Baby imagines a world where babies are either sent into families, or sent into management. Baby management involves very many important things, such as making sure formula is intact and sharpening crayons, and of course, my favourite, taking scheduled naps. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Except for the fact that there’s a major glitch in the plan – someone is trying to eliminate the need for babies! Who could it be? Boss Baby is sent to earth to find out…

Right into the arms of little Tim’s family, who accept him openly – well, everyone except Tim himself, who sees the baby as an usurper and views him with the greatest suspicion. Wouldn’t you? The baby walks around in a suit! Sure enough Tim discovers the baby’s plan and now they have to work together, to get rid of each other – because after the mission succeeds, Boss Baby will have to go back from whence he came, and Tim can have his life back. It’s an almost perfect partnership – assuming they can stop trying to sabotage each other and actually get to the evil mastermind trying to ruin everything.

It has a few really good laughs, because babies are cute, and have cute butts. Don’t expect tooooo much (what I really mean is, don’t expect Storks. I mean. That movie was classic. The most underrated animation of last year, I swear. Ok. This isn’t a review for Storks. Bye.)
